What Preventative Maintenance Is There For The EDV1100 And EDV2200?

Take a Q tip with rubbing alcohol and wipe down the vents in front of the unit. Put 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water in tank every 3 months to keep the tank clean. The lid cannot be removed from tank. The lid keeps the floatation device in place to shut off the unit when the tank is full.

Where Is The Best Place To Put My Eva-Dry In The Safe?

On top shelf free standing with both sides of the unit open to air flow.

What Is The Maximum Consecutive Hours The E333 And E500 Should Be Plugged In For Renewing?

18 consecutive hours MAXIMUM.

My Beads Are Not Changing Back To Their Original Color When Renewing The E333 Or E500?

Plug the unit in for 14 hours then unplug the unit let it get cold to the touch (approx 1 hour) then plug the unit back in until beads change back to their original color. The reason you unplug the unit and let it get cold to the touch is to let the plastic casing cool down before applying your next drying cycle.

No, not a light but color changing crystals will indicate when your Eva-Dry is ready to be renewed.

Do I Need To Plug The E-333 Or E-500 Eva-Dry Units In For Them To Operate?

No, these units work without power, batteries or wires. The only time you will need to plug the unit in is when it is time to renew.

What Size Room Will The Edv-1100/2200 Dehumidify Effectively?

The model numbers directly correlate the amount of cubic footage the unit will dehumidify.

Will My Edv-1100/2200 Turn Itself Off?

Yes, there is a float switch that will automatically turn the Edv-1100/2200 off once it has reached its capacity.

How Much Power Does The Edv-1100/2200 Use?

The EDV-1100 & EDV-2200 use very little power and are quite economical. The power consumption for the EDV-1100 is only 22.5 W of power and the EDV-2200 uses 72 W.

Can I Retro Fit The Edv-1100/2200 To Run Continuously?

As the manufacturer, we strongly oppose any tampering with your item. Tampering or altering the Eva-dry will void the warranty.

Will The Silica Gel Need Replacing In The EDV-4000?

No.

Does The EDV-4000 Emit Heat?

Yes, the unit generates mild heat.

Can The EDV-4000 Run Continuously?

Yes, as long as the unit is equipped with the option drain hose. When the unit is placed on auto it will run until the tank is full, at which point it will shut off, so the optional drain hose is needed for continuous operation.

What Is The Life Span Of A Eva-Dry Dehumidifier?

The lifespan of your dehumidifier will vary based on the amount of use. That being said, Eva-Dry's dehumidifiers can last up to 10 years under normal usage!

What Do I Do When The Indicator On The Dehumidifier Shows That It Is "Ready To Renew?"

Once the crystals in your Eva-Dry have absorbed their maximum moisture, the indicator window on the front of the unit turns pink to tell you that it is time to renew the system by drying it out. Simply plug the dehumidifier into a wall outlet in a well-ventilated area and the renewing process will begin. After just a few hours it will dry out and you can begin using your Eva-Dry again. You can expect to get between 4-6 weeks of usage before the unit needs recharging.

Does The Eva-Dry Use Electricity?

Your Eva-Dry dehumidifier will only need to be recharged between 4-6 weeks under normal usage for a few hours. Once it is recharged it is ready to go and requires no electricity.

How Do I Check My Humidity Levels In My Space?

By using the Eva-Dry Safe Sensor you can measure the·humidity level of your space. Simply place the remote sensor into the area you want to receive a humidity level reading from and place the base unit within 3 meters (9 feet) of the remote sensor. That's it. You will now be able to monitor the conditions inside your safe or enclosed area with a glance at the base unit. No more guessing or opening to determine humidity and temperature conditions. The Eva-Dry Wireless Safe Sensor is battery operated so there is no need for a power source inside your safe or enclosed area. Acceptable humidity levels are 60% RH and below. RH levels over 65% can lead to mold/mildew and or corrosion. When the Safe Sensor is measuring humidity above 60% RH the main unit display will flash, letting you know you need to take action to bring the moisture level down.

How Do I Hang My Eva-Dry Up?

For the E-333 there is a small hole that you can insert the metal hanger into, for the E-500 you will need to insert the "S" hook through the eyelets on the plug (it will hang up side down).

Will The Collected Moisture Leak Out Of The Unit?

No, once the water vapor is absorbed by the silica it can not be re-released until the unit is renewed.

How Do I Know It Is Time To Renew?

There is an indicator window on the front of the unit that contains color changing crystals. These crystals are blue when the unit is dry, and will turn completely pink when the unit is saturated and ready to renew. You do not need to renew until all of the crystals are completely pink.

How Long Does It Take For The Crystals To Change From Orange to Green or (Different Models - Blue To Pink) ?

This depends on how much relative humidity is in the area you are trying to dehumidify. The higher the relative humidity, the more frequent the Eva-Dry will need to be recharged. Typically, for the (E-333), it should take approximately 20-30 days. For the (E-500), it should take approximately 30-60 days.

How Long Does It Take For The Renewal Process?

For the E-333 it takes approximately 10-12 hours and for the E-500 the process takes approximately 12-14 hours. We recommend that you leave it plugged in overnight in a well-ventilated area for best results. Use of a power strip is recommended.

I See Condensation Build-Up In The Indicator Window When I Renew The Unit, Is This Normal?

Yes, the condensation build up is the remnants of moisture that has been collected from the previous cycle.

Is It Normal For The Eva-Dry To Generate A Mild Heat When It Is In The Renew Process?

Yes, it is completely normal for the unit to generate a mild heat during regeneration.

Where Do I Renew The Unit So The Moisture Doesn't Get Released Back Into The Same Place I Just Dehumidified?

The best place to renew the Eva-Dry is in any well ventilated area or in a bathroom with the exhaust fan on.
